Sustainability

Within our production, we have introduced mechanisms for the thorough separation of different types of films, which we then dispose of in an environmentally friendly manner. Thanks to this effort, we help to mitigate the impact on the environment, as even the several tons of packaging films saved in this way find their so-called "second life".
Last but not least, we also strive to make steps and investments in the smart use of energy resources and the social aspects of sustainability.

A BETTER WORLD THROUGH SUSTAINABLE PACKAGING

Our commitment to sustainability goes beyond reporting or sharing knowledge - it's our business too. Our recyclable and renewable packaging is selected to address and minimize its environmental impact.

Monomaterial packaging

The method is surprisingly simple at first sight. Choosing only one type of material allows selective sorting and optimal recycling. It sounds good and can certainly be implemented using flexible packaging.
Last but not least, the priority list points to the need for environmentally compatible recycling. Without optimised sorting, all the effort invested in the last step of the recycling chain is lost. This is where flexible mono-material packaging comes into play: it represents a major step towards a sustainable circular economy.

Shrink wrapping

Shrink wrapping means reducing the thickness of the plastic film to reduce the weight of the packaging used and setting a minimum operating thickness. Minimum thickness means that the packaging still retains its integrity during packaging, storage, transport, display in stores, carry home and storage at home. With new materials, we reduce film thickness for comparable or better performance.

From renewable packaging

At ALEDET we offer the technical assistance needed to develop packaging from renewable sources. This term means that the raw materials (in whole or in part) used to create the packaging come from a natural source and/or a source that can be renewed, such as wood pulp.

PCR

The film is manufactured from raw material obtained from recyclable waste, so-called PCR (post-consumer recycled content)
The latest development in sustainable flexible packaging is the use of PCR content in the polyethylene and/or polyester components of the material structure.

Protecting the planet

For us, sustainability means considering our impact - both positive and negative - across the entire value chain in terms of the environment, social responsibility and business and management ethics, and proactively working to lead by example in all three pillars of sustainability. Minimizing the negative environmental impacts of our operations and products while maximizing the positive impacts on our partners, consumers and society.
